BUGABOO CONFECTIONERY started with my 10 year old daughter's dream. Alayna wanted, more than anything, to grow up and start her own candy factory. She asked me if she could start babysitting to earn money for her dream factory. Being too young to babysit, I thought it would be fun for us to take candy and baking classes together as a family and learn the skills she would need to build a menu for herself. Then we could offer the treats we make to family, friends, and anyone else who happens along and she could earn money that way. It seemed like this way she can learn the business side and the confectionery side while working towards her dream.

Our first foray into the world of bakery-ing came when we offered a selection of three different flavors of cake pops for Mother's Day. Salted caramel, chocolate dipped strawberry and iced lemon. It went so well, and everyone we talked to and made cake pops for were so incredibly supportive. It was a dream come true for myself to see Alayna's face light up as we worked together as a family to fill the orders that came in. We had so much fun, despite the crazy random problems that popped up!

I am so grateful my boys both stepped in and were just as excited about starting a little family "bakery" as Alayna and I are.

Here's to many more family baking adventures to come!
